Wine; vintage: 2003; ABV: 14%;

Ripe cherry colour, clear and bright with ruby hues and some brick red irridescence. The bouquet is serious, elegant with intense aromas of spices and fruits of the forest, complex, subtle and perfumed with liquorice undertones. The wine is full bodied, balanced and long lasting. Powerfully flavoured with a delicious velvety after taste, stylish fruity and hints of spice.

Senorio de Nava

At the end of the Eighties a group of experienced winemakers of Castilla de Leon (“Shore of the Duero?) formed this estate from the old agricultural cooperative of San Antolín that dates from 1956, forming Bodegas Señorío de Nava, S.A. It is located in the unique Castilian Plateau between Peñafiel and Roa de Duero in the municipality of Nava de Roa. The vineyard, modelled on a French Chateau, has more than 140 hectares under vines, in excellent soils, where they cultivate a limited production of the varieties authorized in the denomination of Origin: the “Tinto Fino?, “Cabernet-Sauvignon? and “Merlot?. The major vine is “Tinto Fino? locally known as “Tinto del Pais?, that has adapted perfectly to the extreme climatic conditions of the region. The variety is robust and vigorous blooming late to avoid frosts and maturing quicky. Senorio de Nava Finca San Cobate 2001

A truly magnificent wine showing exceptional class from the special Finca San Cobate Estate and a great vintage to 'follow' the stunning 1999. Made from selected hand picked grapes, fermented in oak then matured in French oak then matured in French oak casks for 24 months and a further 12 months in bottle before being released. Finely constructed, ample, complex, harmonious mouthful. Powerfeul yet velvety. Wonderful now but will repay keeping. [read on...]
