A stunning white Burgundy from the superior Villages classification. Pale straw colour with green tinge, with aromas of strawberries, pineapple and gereengage, with a touch of vanilla as 30% of this wine was matured in French oak casks, The flavour is powerful and rich, with a hint of hazelnuts. Aligote is the secondary grape of Burgundy. Although not as elegant as Chardonnay, in good vintages some excellent wines are made which are very crisp, fresh and thirst quenching. Invariably it is drunk younbg, goes well with oysters and is famous as a perfect wine base for making 'kir'.
