Carlos Pizzorno Wines
History
In 1890 Don Polonio García, an immigrant from the Canary Islands, arrived in Uruguay and acquired the first hectares of land in Canelón Chico Region, hoping to continue a family tradition of vine cultivation, and planted the first vineyards.
His son Francisco constructed the first winery in 1910. In 1987 his grandson, Carlos Pizzorno, started the reconversion of the vineyards, and in 1996 started the reconversion of the winery which is in its final stages.
The Pizzorno family is the fourth generation to continue with the same love and respect for nature that started over a century ago. Not one element has been lost of that tradition, adapting it to the present day with advanced techniques of wine cultivation and production.
