Wine; vintage: 2006; ABV: 13%;A fascinating marriage of 75% Sauvignon Blanc giving body, fulness and depth and 25% Muscat offering delicate floral scented Muscat fruit and an exotic touch of peaches, nectarines and pineapple and grapefruit from the Sauvignon. Domaine Reine Juliette
Domaine Reine Juliette is situated in the small town of Pomerols in the Languedoc region of southern France. The name Rene Juliette is inherited from a Queen Juliette who is reputed to have given her name to the site during her stay. The estate is located on the Via Domitia, the main Roman road linking Italy to Spain, along which viticulture was introduced to the Languedoc region.

Domaine Reine Juliette Picpoul de Pinet 2006
The Picpoul grape is little known outside of France, yet is very popular in Southern France where there are substantial vineyards producing fine, fruity crisp dry white wines with notes of flowers, peaches, tropical fruits and minerally lemon-grapefruits on the finish. Excellent with seafood, especially oysters (the chosen 'marriage' alond the Southern French Coast) grilled fish and chicken salads, or simply enjoy as an unusual apereitif. [read on...]
