Chateau de Coussergues
Producer: Arnould De Bertier
The Château de Coussergues, a former Royal Manor has been in the Sarret de Coussergues family for thirteen generations (since 1495). The Manor is located about ten kilometers east of Beziers (Languedoc) on the last group of hills overlooking the Mediterranean sea. It produces Cotes de Thongue regional wines as well as Pays d'Oc and Languedoc Wines.
One of the oldest family owned wine producing estates in Langudoc, one of the largest too: 600 ha of which 210 ha are vineyards (160 ha planted in red, 59 ha in white grape varieties) - 14 different varietals. Produces only country wines (red white and rosé blends or varietals). Over the 5 past years, some of the wines especially the Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc have won awards and received good write ups.
Potential for the near future : more Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Pinot Noir. External Links
